Clear terms for using LimitX.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to hold a LimitX account, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Give accurate information and keep your email current — it is how we send billing notices and account recovery.

2. What the Service Is — and Is Not

LimitX is a self-control and digital wellbeing tool. It helps you block apps and adult content, limit short-form video, hold focus sessions, and stay accountable to someone you choose.

LimitX is not a medical device, a treatment, a therapy, or a substitute for professional care for compulsive behaviour, addiction, or any mental health condition. It is not a security product and not a guarantee. If you are struggling, please seek qualified help.

3. Filtering Is Imperfect

No content filter catches everything. Blocklists, keyword matching, and SafeSearch enforcement can miss content, and can also block something harmless. Apps and websites change constantly, and Android may stop or restrict our background service. You accept that content may get through, that legitimate content may be blocked, and that you remain responsible for what you access.

4. Accessibility Service

LimitX uses Android's AccessibilityService to enforce blocking, which requires reading on-screen content in the apps and browsers you protect. By enabling it you consent to that use, which is described in full in our Privacy Policy. We use it only to operate the protection features you have turned on. You can disable it at any time in Android Settings; protection stops when you do.

5. Permissions and Your Responsibility

The Service needs permissions such as Usage Access, display-over-other-apps, notifications, and optionally device administrator for uninstall protection. Granting them is your choice; the features that depend on them will not work otherwise. Do not use device administrator or the Protection PIN on a device that is not yours or that you do not have permission to configure.

6. Protection PIN and Removal Delays

The Protection PIN and any waiting period before protection can be weakened exist on purpose: to make an impulsive decision harder. We do not hold a copy of your PIN and cannot reset or recover it. If you lose it and did not save your backup key, the only remaining route is clearing app data or reinstalling, which erases local settings. Do not enable the PIN unless you accept that.

7. Acceptable Use

Do not use the Service to monitor or restrict someone without their knowledge and consent where the law requires it; do not install it on a device you do not own or administer; do not reverse engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the Service or its billing; do not abuse the referral programme with fake or automated accounts; and do not use the assistance chat to submit unlawful content or another person's data.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and may withhold or reverse referral rewards obtained through abuse.

8. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

Premium and Premium Plus are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through Google Play. Prices shown in the app come from Google Play in your local currency.

If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Where we say we will remind you before that happens, we will — but the responsibility to cancel in time is yours.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves access running until the current period ends. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your LimitX account.

9. Promotional Pricing and Introductory Offers

We sometimes offer a reduced introductory price, including through the in-app assistance chat. Unless the offer says otherwise, an introductory price applies for a stated number of billing cycles and then automatically renews at the standard price. The offer screen states both the introductory price and the price it becomes. Promotional offers are limited, may be withdrawn, are tied to your account, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

10. Free Passes and Time-Limited Access

We may grant time-limited full access — for example a 24-hour pass — without payment. A pass is a courtesy, not an entitlement: it is limited per account and per device, subject to a cooldown, and may be changed or withdrawn. When it expires, protection features that require Premium stop until you subscribe.

11. Referral Programme

You may earn free Premium time by inviting people who install LimitX and genuinely start using it. Rewards depend on invited users reaching an activation step, not merely signing up. Thresholds and reward amounts are set by us and may change at any time. Rewards are personal, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred. We may refuse, reverse, or claw back rewards we reasonably believe were obtained through fake accounts, automation, self-referral, or one device claiming repeatedly. Rewards earned while a paid subscription is active may be banked and start when it ends.

12. Refunds

Purchases are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's refund policy and to your statutory rights, which these Terms do not remove. We do not process payments and generally cannot issue refunds directly — refund requests go to Google Play. Where local consumer law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, that law applies regardless of anything here.

13. In-App Assistance Chat

The assistance chat is generated by an AI system provided by OpenAI, and is labelled as such in the app. It can be wrong. Nothing it says is advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise — and only offers actually presented and confirmed in Google Play are binding. Do not enter card, bank, or password details; no part of LimitX will ever ask for them. Your messages are processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Accountability and Parental Features

Linking an accountability partner or parent is opt-in and requires a code entered on the protected device. Once linked, that person receives your protection alerts and blocked-content records, including the words that were matched. Only link someone you intend to share that with. If you link someone else's device, you are responsible for having their informed consent and for complying with the law where you both live. Either side may unlink at any time.

15. Communications

By creating an account you agree to receive service and lifecycle email and push notifications. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional email and disable notifications at any time. Billing, security, and account notices are transactional and continue while your account exists, because they concern money and access.

16. Your Content and Settings

Your blocklists, keywords, schedules, and settings remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to store, sync, and process them to operate the Service, and to share them with an accountability partner where you have enabled that.

17. Account Deletion and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud or abuse, or where required by law. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel that separately in Google Play.

18. Service Changes and Availability

We change, add, and remove features, and may limit or discontinue parts of the Service. Protection depends on Android, on the apps you protect, and on your device's power and background settings, all of which are outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

19. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties including Google (Firebase, Play Billing, Play services) and OpenAI. Their terms and policies apply to their parts, and we are not responsible for them. Google Play is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for the Service.

20. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that filtering will be complete, accurate, or uninterrupted.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LimitX is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

22. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify LimitX against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your use of the Service on a device or person without proper authority or consent.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date shows when the Terms were last revised, and material changes will be signalled in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
